Welcome!
Another Installment in As The Marketer Turns. . . LOL! Though some of these make me squirm with embarrassment, they do show the developments as a marketer and in marketing-- it's everything from fun to frustrating. Just like the rest of the internet. (So, you "think" you want to work here, huh?) ;-)

The Empowerism Of A Schedule
Back To Directory
We need schedules. That's the truth. Probably the biggest challenge anyone faces when working online is keeping a schedule, both because of the incessant distractions, online and off, and the threat of over-scheduling oneself. So far, I've been able to follow the schedule I posted on Monday, more or less. And I feel like I've gotten more done than usual. Like all great corporation CEO's know, in lieu of money, accomplish helps boost morale.

Me, I'll take the money over accomplishment anytime. Still. . .

Making and keeping a workable schedule is something that must evolve with time. I always hope that, eventually, my schedule will allow me to stop working by 2:00 or 3:00 p.m. each day and include weekends off. (Ahh... that would be so nice.) Or, even better, if it would be like all those ads promise. You know the ones I mean: "work one hour a day and make gobs of money!" Ha! I will SO let you know when THAT happens! But I seriously doubt, no matter HOW much I ever made, I'd do that. The crucial difference is, I'd do much more of what I wanted to do.

Like, I've decided (though I can't fathom when I'll have the time), to create an off-topic blog, just so I can rant to my heart's content about things unrelated to internet marketing. I did this because I've noticed that, despite my best efforts to the contrary, side and personal issues keep creeping in here. And that's not the point to this blog. Whether I should link it to this blog, I don't know. If nothing else, it may be an interesting add-on, a side light into whatever demons drive me. Still, though I've got a minimum of "skeletons" in my closet, you may learn more about me than you ever wanted to know. C'est la vie. Course, you can ignore it. . . . I've never gotten the feeling anyone really follows this blog anyway. But, who knows? That may change someday, too.

My point is, with a decent schedule, I feel like I'll have the time to create that. So, a schedule is empowering.

But some may wonder how one keeps a schedule. Well, they call it a clock. It's a really great gadget that came out, oh, several centuries ago. . . :) If you look over my schedule, you'll see that each item has a set time... this really helps. Right this second, it's 7:47 a.m. So I know I only have a few more minutes to complete this. Now I could totally blow off that schedule. Sometimes I do, if I feel like the issue at hand is important enough. But generally, I respect it and work with it.

So far, it's been a great help. Of course, that schedule also explains why I leave so much unsaid. There is, inevitably, about ten things I'd like to add each day. I just remember that this will give me something to talk about tomorrow.

This blog, too, is still evolving. Eventually, I would like to see it accomplish two things:

1) Give non-internet marketers/ home business people a glimpse into a career path and life style they are considering;

2) Offer practical recommendations that augment the recommendations on my website. Those are the big recommendations-- the tools and the biz opps. But there are many, many other little tips and tricks that you just pick up along the way.

Well, it's 7:52. . . am I becoming a slave to the clock?. . . naaaah!--mo ;-)
